Allu Arjun, Mamooty win at South Filmfare Awards


New Delhi: Composer AR Rahman, actor Allu Arjun, Mamooty and singer Shreya Ghosal were the big winners at the 58th Filmfare Award (South) at Hyderabad that brought together the biggest stars from the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film industries.
Tamil film 'Mynaa', Telugu film 'Vedam', Malayalam film 'Pranchiyettan & The Saint' and Kannada film 'Jackie' won the Best Film award in their respective language categories.
Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi and Jayasudha, now a politician, received the lifetime achievement awards for their contribution to cinema.
Allu Arjun won the best actor award for for his role in Telugu film 'Vedam', Vikram in Tamil for 'Raavanan', Shivraj Kumar in Kannada for 'Thamassu ' and Mammooty in Malayalam for 'Pranchiyettan and The Saint'.
The Best Male Debut award went to Rana Daggubati Telugu film 'Leader'.
Girish Kasaravalli, Ranjith and Radhakrishna Jagarlamudu won Best Director awards. Celebrated composer AR Rahman won Best Music Director for 'Ye Maya Chesave'.
